Suffice it to say, it felt nothing like Spring today in Port Jefferson for the Stony Brook Cup. While we did manage to dodge the heavy rain that didn't come until later, it was a damp and cold day. The breeze was pretty solid from various iterations of South at about 6-10 knots. We were able to efficiently complete 9 races in each division and finish the regatta in one day. Teams enjoyed some well earned pizza after racing.
We sail this regatta each Spring in loving memory of Brendan Brown-McCue, a cherished alumni of our team who tragically passed away in 2019. Congratulations to Villanova for the victory this year! Thank you to all the teams for attending and thank you to all the SBU team members for helping run a great event. Also, a big thank you to our alumni who came to help, Danyte Reisinger-Tampellini'19, Siobhan Keeling'19, and Claire Seeling-Branscomb'24.
