PCCSC Mark Healy Open Fleet Race Championship

Summary

Saturday, April 18:

Great racing on Alamitos bay to start off the 2026 Mark Healy Open Fleet Race Championship. Winds began light at about 5 knots but we were able to stay right on schedule with race 1A starting at 10AM. Racing continued all day with the wind slowly building to 12 knots out of the SW by our final race, 8B. The race committee docked at 4:30pm and one protest was heard between Hawaii and Stanford where no boats were disqualified. One breakdown was awarded to UCSB for a broken tiller. Always great to be running races in Long Beach with near perfect conditions!

Sunday, April 19:

We had a fantastic weekend of racing on Alamitos Bay for the Mark Healy! Conditions ranged between 5-12 knots with temperatures in the high 60s low 70s. Steady breeze from the SSW allowed few course changes over the weekend for all 14 races to be completed in W3 and W4 configurations. Congratulations to Stanford, San Diego State, and USC for filling the podium with the top two securing automatic berths for College Sailing Nationals in May at USF.

Big thank you to PRO Roger O'Conner, as well as our Race Committee Team of Alex Smith, Bob Little, and the USC Team for putting on great racing all weekend. We would also like to thank Bronny Joy for taking event photos!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
