Middlebury was pleased to be able to host the Mendum's Pond Regatta 2026 on Lake Champlain. By the 10am report time, winds of 10-15 knots from the northwest had produced strong swells but got the fleet racing before 11am. Temperatures in the high 30s and precipitation all day made conditions tough for some, but steady wind until early afternoon made for a good racing. By 1pm, wind and waves had subsided substantially, with A fleet sailing one race before returning to shore to await adequate breeze. With an hour left before the 3pm cutoff, B fleet returned to sail a final race in 4 knots to complete the regatta at three races per fleet. Sleet and snow came and went all day making for dynamic spring sailing at Historic Arnold's Bay. Congrats to McGill on a solid victory and thanks to all teams for braving the winter conditions!
