Day one of the Dellenbaugh Women's Team Race Trophy was a cold one but the racing was great. Feel like temps were in the 20's with winds out of the shifty N/NW at 5-15 knots with a few higher puffs. Racing started at 11:30am and ended by 6pm through race 56 of the first round robin of all 12 teams. Thank you to our great umpire group, led by Chief Umpire Brad Dellenbaugh who the regatta is named in honor of. Our five other umpires were Moose McClintock, Brielle Willoughby, Leyton Borcherding, Francesca Edmands, and Emily Mueller. Two umpire boats followed each race and they certainly earned their pay with 6.5 hours of straight racing in the cold and blustery conditions. Thank you to Harvard Coach Mike O'Connor for being the ICSA Representative and to Dartmouth, Harvard, Roger Williams, Yale, and the Moses Brown School for providing powerboats.
Racing started at 10:15am in a very shifty and building West/Southwesterly that ranged from 6-16 knots with some bigger puffs by the end of the day. It felt a lot warmer than yesterday with temps in the high 30's, low 40's. We finished the first round of 66 races by 11:45am, took a short break, and then broke into a Top 6 Gold in 420s and Bottom 6 Silver in FJs, utilizing all 36 boats. Racing in the Gold and Silver took just under 3 hours and the last race finished just before the 3pm cutoff.
96 races were sailed over the two days, with a full robin of all 12 teams, a Top 6 Gold round, and Bottom 6 Silver round. The depth of the regatta and the racing was fantastic in the shifty conditions close to shore.
A huge thanks to Dartmouth, Harvard, Roger Williams, Yale, and the Moses Brown School for providing powerboats for umpires and racing. Thank you to Mike O'Connor for being the ICSA Representative. A huge thank you our great group of umpires, led by Chief Umpire Brad Dellenbaugh, and Moose McClintock, Brielle Willoughby, Leyton Borcherding, Francesca Edmands, and Emily Mueller. Thanks to the Brown Sailors who braved the cold and helped as well: Charlie Gish '28, Tyler Lamm '28, Talia Levine '26, and Kyoko Tonkin '29.
Congratulations to #1 ranked Stanford on winning the 2026 Dellenbaugh Women's Trophy with a 14-2 record by one win over the Brown Bears at 13-3.
