A sporty NW wind, featuring massive shifts, challenged sailors at the Central 4. The first set was completed without much excitement, but the shifts became more extreme as morning gave way to afternoon, leading to the abandonment of two races due massive lefties allowing boats to fetch mark 1 off the line. Velocity further increased towards the end of the second set. After several capsizes and many of the FJs in A Division being unable to finish races, it was decided to take lunch after race 4 and make the switch of A Division into 420s, with the hope that conditions would improve by the time B division was finished with lunch and ready to head back out, or to only use 420s for the remainder of the day if not. However, velocity continued to increase, with race 5A was abandoned at the top of the first beat out of concern that the fleet would be unable to safely sail the downwind leg. A division was sent to the dock. With several teams electing to retire from racing for a variety of weather related issues, the RC and NEISA Rep conferred and decided to end the regatta after 4 races.
Huge tanks to Mike O'Connor for running the crash/mark boat and allowing Bentley to host at Harvard, Dane Phippen '23 and Brett Tardie '25 for running the mark/upwind finish boat, Nick Memoli '20 for assisting on the signal boat, Lisa Downey from MSM for being NEISA Rep, and Greg Wilkinson for providing additional support ashore. It was a tough day to race sailboats on the Charles, and we couldn't have completed the 4 races that we did without having a great crew to keep things on the rails. - Jared Reineck, PRO

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
