Beautiful day on the St. Mary's River with tons of normal everyday regular college students hanging out at the Teddy Turner Waterfront at St. Mary's College of MD. PRO Eric Reitinger along with the Field of Play Manager Stan "The Man" Hyatt and Rachel O'Neill on the pin boat ripped off 10 races in each division. Races were W-4's and W-5's. Evidently, people must have liked the racing a lot because three competitors actually raced a W-7 in race 2B.
Thanks to on the water judges Charlie Arms (Chief), Pete Fanta, Dexter Mueller and Thomas Walker for issuing justice on and off the water! One protest was heard resulting in a DSQ for Webb Institute.
Sailors were welcomed to a breezy Northwesterly with a front line approaching. The last 4 races in each division were all W-4's with a few capsizes and a couple redresses.
Congratulations to champions UPenn and Navy for securing the automatic qualifying spots to fleet race nationals in St. Pete, FL!
