Day one of the Harman Trophy saw a lovely sea breeze out in East Penobscot Bay. The flat water for the first race gradually built into a medium chop as the ebbing tide gained momentum. Breeze topped out at around 15 knots. Four races of 35 minutes each were completed. Maine Maritime and Bowdoin each won two and are tied for the overall lead. Tufts and Boston University are both 6 points back in a tie for 3rd. A gorgeous day of racing ended with Bowdoin, BU, and Maine Maritime overlapped at the finish in that order with the kites flying strong. In sum, a fine day of racing.
Sunday brought about 10 knots out of the south, four races, and plenty of rain for the Harman Cup. Bowdoin College took the win, with Tufts University and Boston University also qualifying for NEISA Match Race Champs.
