Corpus Christi Spring Open Team Race

Summary

Saturday, February 21:

The day started overcast with the RC on station at 1000. After a brief delay, racing was started, breeze NNE 6-8 kts. Three rounds were run before the wind clocked E and died, perfect time for a lunch break at the club. After a lazy hour around the pool, the NE filled in at 7-8 kts, and we were back at it. The course was set up behind the breakwater in anticipation of building breeze and rougher sea state later in the day. Round 4 ran in perfect conditions. As predicted, the breeze backed to N, velocity up to 12-14 for the last two rounds, 5 and 6. With a forecast of 20kts gusting 30 kts for Sunday, the coaches agreed to call it a weekend. Thanks to our RC for a great course, six rounds of perfect sailing, and CCYC for all their hospitality!

Sunday, February 22:

No racing, wind >20 kts. All rounds completed Saturday.
