2026 SAISA Open

Summary

Saturday, February 14:

T'was a challenging day for competitors and the race committee on Lake Virginia. Unstable breeze for much of the morning forced several races to get called back. 5-7 kt Easterly sea breeze filled in throughout the afternoon for the final A/B set on the day. W3 and W4 races were run, averaging seventeen minutes in length.

Miami, Jacksonville, and Rollins round out the podium after day one, separated by fewer than nine points. Two protests and one breakdown will be heard on Sunday morning.

Sunday, February 15:

Four A and four B races were completed. Light southerly 8-10kts built throughout the day into the high-teens with gusts up to 25kts. No protests or breakdowns were filed, though there was heavy attrition in the back of the fleet as conditions got spicy.

No movement on the podium as Miami extended its lead on a dominant A-Division performance. Congratulations to the Auburn Tigers and UCF Knights on punching their ticket to the 2026 SAISA Open Conference Championship for the Tillman Trophy.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
