Teams arrived to day 1 of the 2026 Jen Harris Team Race with a thick layer of fog on the river but sailable wind. Racing began at 1000 and kept on going until the breeze dropped below four knots at 1445 triggering a short postponement ashore. The wind filled back in and sailors got on the water racing until 1745 and completing 53 races.
Day two of the Jen Harris team race saw a lot of fog and very little wind. The regatta was postponed ashore right away. At approximately 1230, enough wind filled for RC to head out and attempt to set a course. Between the breeze shifting direction and pulsing only occaisonally to four knots, conditions did not become sailable until 1420. At that time, the postponement was lifted and sailors headed out to the race course. One start went off but it was very quickly called back as the wind died before the reached mark one. Sailors waited on the water until 1458 when it was officially too late to start any racing. Luckily we were able to complete 53 races on the first day, satisfying the 80% requirement to constitute a complete regatta. Thank you to our race management team of PRO Rob Vann and umpires: Jed Bell, Preston Senior, Caroline Bayless, Nora Ong, Jack Kish, Ian Morgan, Chase Cooper, Gwynie Dunleavy, Travis Carlisle, Darby Capellin and Thibault Antonietti. Congratulations to the Stanford Cardinal for winning the 2026 Jen Harris Team Race.
