Wrightsville Beach welcomed teams from SAISA with outstanding conditions including sunny skies, warm temperatures, a 10-12mph southerly breeze, and light current. As the day progressed, the impact of the current increased and teams adjusted their starting and on course strategies to manage the ebbing tide. Early in the day the NC State Wolfpack and Jacksonville University Fins battled back and forth for the first rotation with JU's second squad also in the mix while further down the leaderboard, the UNC Tarheels and Clemson Tigers were also in the mix. The RC was able to complete two full rotations and then finished the day with a one-and-one set for both divisions before wrapping the event. Congrats to NC State and JU for taking the podium and thanks to all of the competitors for joining us in beautiful Wrightsville Beach for another great collegiate regatta. Thanks to Jack Gower, David and Denise Usher, Matt McCoy, Andrew Simpson, Nevin Williams, Elliott Magliola, and all of the volunteers and UNCW sailors who helped run an efficient fun event. The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
