Peter Wenner Rainbow Invite

Summary

Saturday, January 18:

Day 1 of the Peter Wenner Rainbow Invite was greeted with our beautiful Hawaiian Trade winds blowing 10-15 with higher puffs and gusts out of the mountains. Great day and good sailing which ended with a great cookout/dinner for all sailors and volunteers mostly made up of UH sailing alums that come every year to sail in the alum regatta on Friday Jan 17. The alum regatta had great participation with enough sailors to have an A and B division with 12 boats on the line. UH Alums Renee and Adam Corpuz-lahne who fly in from San Francisco to serve as PROs. Fizz Foster/Mike Pacholski and Sea Engineering provided the committee boat. US Judge Tom Pochereva headed up our protest committee and heard one protest. Great Day for all!!

Sunday, January 19:

Day 2 also greeted us with Tradewinds and all had great sailing. Finished up with 12 races in both A and B divisions. Ended by about 2:30 allowing a fun awards session with every teem heading out with their coconut trophies painted by the UH team. Thanks to all of the UH sailing supporters who helped teams with housing. Thanks to all of the volunteers that make this regatta enjoyable for all of the participants!!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
