Teams arrived Friday morning to a glassy Lake Mendota. After lots of waiting around in postponement and a couple hopeful launches, the day eventually had to be called around 4 o'clock.
Saturday showed much more promising conditions from the start of the day. With wind out of the south at around 5-7 kts, racing was intense and exciting with lots of shifts. Team racing wrapped up around noon, having completed 3 round robins. Wisconsin came in first at 6/0, securing the berth at Women's Team Race Nationals. Northwestern came in 2nd at 2/4, and Michigan in 3rd at 1/5. We would like to thank our officials, AJ Schweda (PRO), Mike Kaspar (Ch. Umpire), John Porter (Umpire), Russ Sobotta and Steve Dolan (Umpires-in-training) for their patience on Friday and efficiency on Saturday, and for helping to put on a fun and productive regatta.
