Day one of the 2025 Jen Harris started with a 8-10 knot northwesterly that slowly built all day, eventually finishing with sustained 18 gusting to 25. Halfway through the day the decision was made to keep the FJs ashore and switch to three fleets of 420s. This slowed the pace down a little but we were still able to complete the entire round robin. One redress was filed and then withdrawn.
Day two began with a light southwest wind that built slowly as the day went on eventually getting to 15 knots with gusts into the low 20s. After the initial round robin, the regatta was split into a top 6 / bottom 6. Early in the top 6, a collision occurred in race 74 which resulted in a hole in an FJ. Two sets of FJs were retired and the top 6 switched to a full fleet of 420s, while the bottom 6 sailed the remaining four sets of FJs. One school had a race win taken away as a result of a black flag hearing from the incident. After the top and bottom rounds of 6, a final four was sailed in 420s. A huge thank you to our PRO Rob Vann and our umpire team of Jed Bell, Nora Ong, Caroline Bayless, Abby Tindall, Lydia McPherson, Belly Carty, Lilla Salvesen, Vince Yanelli, Chase Cooper and Aaron Hull. Congratulations to Yale for winning the 2025 Jen Harris Memorial Regatta.
