The UCSD Sailing Team hosted their annual Jeff Simon Memorial Regatta at Mission Bay Yacht Club. The first regatta day started with a frisky southerly wind blowing over Mission Bay with 15-18kts and racing kicked off around 11:30. The winds continued to build for 2 hours causing an onshore postponement. However after postponement the wind steadied out to about 8-10kts of wind, allowing for racing to commence nicely. Of course the day did not go without a significant number of capsizes during the heavy winded moments. All in all a great first day of racing.
Regatta scores were finalized on Saturday. The Regatta was finalized on Saturday and the Women's boats were absorbed in open fleet for a more competitive line.
