Summary

Saturday, March 29:

Invite #1 began on Saturday morning with a steady 6-9 knot NNW breeze with moderate ebb tide and warm temperatures. Breeze and ebb tide built throughout the day while temperatures dropped, with wind conditions ranging from around 10-20 knots through the afternoon and swinging to the NE. The ebb tide maxed out around 1530 and teams battled up the left side of the course where they saw significant current relief north of Jacob's Rock and close to shore. Webb and Bears 1 traded blows throughout the day with Maine Maritime, UVM and Mass maritime tight on their heels. Webb leads Bears 1 going into day two with Mass Maritime in third and UVM and Maine Maritime tied for fourth.

Sunday, March 30:

Day 2 of Invite #1 saw a light easterly 3-9 knots with very shifty and tricky conditions with current slack through most of the day. Webb continued to put on a clinic, with Mass maritime, UVM and Bears 1 battling for 2nd and 3rd. UVM claimed 1st in the final race tying in points with Bears 1, but losing the tiebreaker. Webb won the day and the event, with Mass maritime in 2nd and Bears 1 in 3rd. Congrats to all teams and thanks for attending!
