The 2025 Graham Hall Team Race started out with SE winds at 5-10 knots under cloudy skies. As the day progressed, the sun came out, the wind lightened up and the current increased to the point where the boats were struggling to progress upwind in the last few races. PRO Gavin O'Hare and his RC team completed 84 races on the day and ChUmp Bill Cook and his umpire team kept the racing fair. The plan for Sunday is to start the day with race 85 and continue with the round robin.
Sunday was a very different day on the Severn River. We started out with a 15-20 knot SSE breeze. After one flight, the wind picked up a bit and we switched to 420s only. After another flight we saw some gusts into the 30s and postponed ashore. Shortly before noon, the wind calmed back down into the sailable range and the round robin was completed in 420s only by 2:30. The wind picked back up right at the end and the last few races were very sporty. One black flag hearing was held, resulting in a DSQ in race 109 that did not change the race result. A huge thanks to PRO Gavin O'Hare and his RC team as well as ChUmp Bill Cook and his umpire team of Carter Little, Hunter Anderson, Doc Sullivan, Gwynie Dunlevy, Charlie Arms, Preston Senior, Andrew Cole, Travis Carlisle, Tim Borland, Darby Capellin and Trevor Davis. Congratulations to the Navy Midshipmen for the win!
