Charleston Harbor greeted the (10) College Teams with sunny skies and 10+kts of breeze from the SW that built to nearly 20kts at times. We sailed in the Cooper River near the USS Yorktown and Coaches were able to be on land but close to the action. It ended up being a long day to accommodate natural breaks and there was a delay due to a broken FJ rudder but the Race Committee was able to complete 65 races in very nice sailing conditions.
Sunday brought colder conditions and overcast skies in the Cooper River with the breeze out of the NE at around 10kts. There was a massive ebb tide that kept most of the sailors behind the starting line. The plan was to complete RR2 and then run a Final Four which was completed. In the end it was Stanford getting the best of Charleston in the final race and took the win. A huge thanks to all of the Umpires, Race Committee, all of the CofC students and the sailing center Staff for another excellent event!
