The 2025 Admirals Cup started off with a moderate southerly that would end up escalating, dying out, oscillating, and full on shifting throughout the day. Race Committee was kept active and sailors forced to be patient through several course shifts and resets. Multiple races had to be abandoned due to significant right shifts that came in and turned things into a bit of a reach fest. In the end, 10 fair races in each division were banged out with the last boat in race 10B finishing at 1740.
Fordham leads going into day 2 thanks to a top rank in B Division and a very strong 4th place in A fleet so far. Northeastern isn't terribly far behind in 2nd, and Hobart & William Smith is right on their heels in third. Points are fairly tight from then on with no significant drop offs until 14th place. Seems there could be some major shakeups in the standings tomorrow - time will tell.
Day 2 really brought the breeze with ~20-25 knots of northwesterly wind persisting on the course for most of the day along with gusts that got up into the high 20s and low 30s. Unsurprisingly, conditions proved particularly challenging for all to deal with and only two races were completed in each division before the call was made to end things for the day.
The regatta ended up coming down to the wire, with a win in the final race by Hobart & William Smith enabling them to leap Fordham and Northeastern to come away as winner of the 2025 Admiral's Cup. Congratulations to the Herons & Statesmen!
Many thanks to race committee volunteers Tony Weiner (PRO), Pepe Feigel, and John Huzil for offering us so much time and effort this weekend. Thanks as well to the KP team members and Waterfront Staff that worked diligently throughout the weekend to help keep races running despite the challenging conditions. A huge thank you is also due to all the coaches who participated in protest/redress hearings.
Finally, thank you to all who came from across the country to compete in the Admiral's Cup this year - we look forward to hopefully having you back at Kings Point in the fall.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
