Eight teams arrived at the University of South Florida's St. Petersburg campus to compete for the Florida Trophy. Three teams fielded double entries, so there was a total of eleven boats on the line. With the light, 6-7 knot ENE winds forecast to die in the early afternoon, racing was underway by 10:00am.
Three A division races were conducted in short order, and then B division rotated in. Racing was halted for nearly an hour during the B division set as a research vessel towing a submersible slowly departed Bayboro Harbor. The winds held long enough for another two light-air A division races, but then B division was once again in an hour-long holding pattern while the promised west sea breeze fought the prevailing easterly. Finally the sea breeze triumphed and the final two B division races were sailed in shifty 7-8 knot winds.
Ten races were completed, all W4's or W5's, averaging 15 minutes in length.
Congratulations to Jacksonville University for their victory, and many thanks to all competitors for their patience during the delays.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
