Sailors arrived to a chilly, brisk breeze on the Delaware. We were able to complete a round robin before lunch in 7-10 knot Southeasterly, which is one of the better directions for Princeton. After a much-needed warmup and lunch, we pushed through two more round robins as the rain intensified to finish racing on Saturday. Today certainly was not for the faint of heart, so thank you to the sailors and to our visitors for keeping the spirits high and the racing fun. It was our inaugural attempt at a 2v2 Team Racing regatta, focused on providing more opportunities to develop in the discipline within MAISA.
Congratulations to Princeton 1 on the victory in a much tighter event than the scores indicate. All three races versus SUNY Maritime came down to late passbacks right at the finish, just as you would hope for and expect in a tight 2v2. Thank you additionally to Drexel for enduring two tricky breakdowns and Stony Brook for catching that faulty start. We look forward to more fun soon!
Racing completed on Saturday.
