What a great day to sail on the Thames River. The sailors arrived to a dying Northerly. We waiting about 30 minutes for the Southerly to come up the river. We had a few hours of SE and as the day went on the breeze slowly started to make its daily march to the right to follow the Sun. We sailed almost 2 full rounds. The plan was to sail 3 rounds over 2 days. Thanks to the umpires that helped today, they make the game better. Thanks to the camel undergrads for helping to run the events. We tried a new format with 2 events running at the same time on the same course. This allowed us to have less umpires .
Breeze was light as the Sailors arrived. We need to finish the last flight from Round 2. We missed completing round 3 by 1 race. The Wind was mostly WSW, but we did have S,SE, W, WNW and NW. Big thank you to the umpires. 1 Redress was filed and was not awarded. Thanks to the Camel undergrades for running races. The blended format of 5 Women Teams and 7 Open teams worked well and we will move forward with this concept for Spring 2025 at the Thames River and the SNE.
