The first flight of races were off and running, but the breeze was swirling and from East to West--quite literally. Those races were abandoned and within a few minutes the new breeze came in from the North/Northwest. The weather was miserable; but the racing was good. 54 races were completed (53 plus a resail of the HWS/Dartmouth race. Unfortunately, a Dartmouth/Cornell race resulted in a badly torn sail after Dartmouth capsized on Cornell. Sunday morning a hearing will be heard regarding the necessity of that resail. Thanks to all the regatta volunteers who made the magic happen.
Windy, cold and a shifty Northerly made for fun team racing to complete the preferred format of a double RR with a championship final four. Prior to racing a redress hearing for race 7 HWS vs Dartmouth was heard that reinstated the scores from their first meeting. Unbelievably close racing at the top with UPN, Dart, Cornell and CofC battled it out in the championship and 3 teams tied for 2nd and the Cougars taking the crown with one extra win. Huge thanks to Pete Fanta for leading a great group of young umpires committed to giving back to College Sailing. Also, thanks to PRO Bradley Adam for leading the Seahawks in completing the regatta format with great regatta management.
