Saturday at the McIntyre was quite rainy, but in exchange, an interesting Southwesterly breeze at 7-18 knots hosted a shifty day of sailing. The course had to be adjusted a couple times as Redwood Creek's features created a bit of a fight between the westbound portion of the creek and the southbound fork.
Chief Umpire, Rob Overton led a crew of Brian McDonald, Greg Meagher, Paul Zupan and Don Wieneke who generously donated their time to maintain justice on the race course. Their report was, with the exception of at least one 42 call, the racing was unexcitingly clean. Despite the rain, both the umpire crew and the competitor's spirits were strong, fitting of our conference.
Please note that the Sailing Instructions were amended to report one hour earlier tomorrow!
Sunday morning greeted sailors with a lack of wind. The start of race 31 was therefor postponed for 30 minutes. We started around 1130 in a 5-10 knot westerly. It kicked up to around 10-15 knots. We sailed a complete round 3 of 15 races today to make 45 total races and 3 round robins sailed.
Big thank you to the umpire crew who maintained justice.
