The day started slowly with no breeze and AP being hoisted following the skippers meeting. The sailors were able to get out on the water shortly before noon and six races were completed in a variety of conditions ranging from 3-7 knot winds, with oscillating shifts. The wind originally filled from the northeast, and slowly worked its way to south-southeast, keeping the RC and mark boat busy shifting the course between each race.
A major learning point for the sailors was dealing with current, which was flowing at right angles to the course early on, and then stopped and reversed to flowing at 30 degrees relative to the course axis. The last start was after 3pm and the sailors returned to the HSA pavilion shortly before 4pm to wrap up the day.
