It was a banner day for College Sailing! The Charles River provided champagne sailing conditions with winds from the West ranging in velocity from 6 to 20 KT’s. All courses were W-4. Many thanks to Jeff Bresnahan, who arrived thinking he was the ICSA Rep, but soon found out he was the PRO. He did a masterful job running 12 races in each division. He was ably assisted by Jared Reineck and Will Bailey. Shout out to Bern Noack and Angie Dale for fixing the breakdowns. Best of luck to everyone tomorrow.
The day began with a weak westerly 3-6 knots that filled at 10:15, causing the first start to be delayed to 10:35. After 2 races in each division with a couple races abandoned, the seabreeze filled in at a great 5-10 knots and provided great conditions to complete remaining 4 races in each division.
Racing was very close for the 9th spot to advance with Miami starting ahead of MIT in 9th, falling into 10th and then finally closing a 20 point gap over that last few races to finish a point behind MIT with excellent sportsmanship displayed by both teams.
Race committee was staffed by PRO Carter Brock and Mike Kanare on start boat, Lucy Brock and Morgan Termaat on finish, event chair Matt Lindblad on markset.
Chief Judge John Pratt was assisted by Rick Myers, John Mooney, Trevor Long, Dana Haig, Eric Hansen, and Fred Hagedorn.
Shore team at MIT was led by dockmasters Stew Craig and Dan Tucker on breakdown and equipment check. Education Coordinator Hannah Agate organized all of the team checkins, volunteers, food, and volunteers Dockstaff included Grace Mao, Dave Hill, and Conan Hom. Other volunteers included Max Wood, Walker Cox, and a bunch of sailors from the BB&N sailing team.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
