Good racing in bad weather on the Charles today. The breeze was E, ENE, N with decent velocity all day. We managed to get through 32 races in some challenging race management conditions. Many thanks to our umpires and the Jumbos undergrads who toughed it out all day in the torrential rain to ensure quality and fair racing.
We would like to thank our great team of umpires who braved the rain and cold all weekend! They are Nevin Snow, Miranda Bakos, Patrick Mulcahy (Sat) and Robby Gearon (Sun). After completing the first round, we only had time for a top 4 and middle four second round. The breeze was puffy and shifty ranging from 2 to 9 kts with big shifts from both sides of north.
Big thanks to the team of Jumbos who toughed it out in the rain Saturday: Matt Caplan, Adrien Bellanger, Clark Morris, Jack Flores, Amelia Carlson, Haley Andreasen, Addie Straub, Reddin Kehrli, Meredith Broadus, and Eloise Goedkoop. And also to the Jumbos who subbed in on Sunday to help keep racing moving in a very tough northerly: Connor Rosow, Nicole Morikawa, Greta Klein, and Kurt Stuebe
Thanks to Harvard for opening up their venue and use of their boats to run this event that has historically been held at Tufts and to MIT for lending umpire boats.
Congratulations to Yale on their decisive victory
