On a surprisingly chilly April day, Baseline Lake delivered fantastic racing conditions for the 2024 Big Ten Team Race Championship. 7 races were completed in a strong breeze of 14-18 knots before the wind started to make a shaky shift North and the sailors headed in for lunch. 13 races were then completed in 12-14 knots with frequent gusts over 20, closing out our two round robins. The teams voted to sail as many races as possible on Sunday, and it looks like we'll be in for some more great racing tomorrow!
Day 2 of the Big Ten Team Race Championship delivered wonderful racing conditions to complete a 3rd round robin for the 5 teams. From 0 to 22 knots and everything in between, we were able to cap of a solid weekend of racing out on Baseline Lake. Congratulations to the 2024 Big Ten Team Race Champions: the University of Wisconsin.
Many thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Race Committee, Scott and Lisa Corder, along with the judge team headed by Clark Chapin, and Finish Crew Dale and Pat Gort, for conducting racing this weekend.
