Day 1 of the College Sailing Women’s Nationals started off with a stiff northerly breeze. With 10 races anticipated for A and B divisions, all sailors arrived to the race course in 10 to 15 knots. As forecasted, the breeze did drop throughout the day and sailors were challenged with oscillating conditions - it was truly a “Heads out of the boat” kind of day. Teams that stayed in phase were rewarded. The current remained a factor on the course as well providing another level of difficulty for teams to consider. Yale's Carmen Cowles, Megan Grimes, Ximena Escobar, and Anisha Arcot won A division. Stanford's Vanessa Lahrkamp, Grace Austin, and Abigail Tindall had an incredible showing, winning B Division by 30 points.
Congratulations to Stanford for winning in dominant fashion, followed by Yale and Boston College to round of the podium.
