Racers showed up to light breeze from the southwest at enough velocity (approximately 3-4 knots) to get racing started just after the 1030 scheduled first warning signal. The first round was completed just before the breeze died which allowed for a rotation and bathroom break while we waited for breeze to materialize again. A southwesterly then proceeded to build slowly throughout the day allowing for completion of the remaining two rounds. Stanford ran away with the event followed by Hawaii who handily ran away with second place exhibiting strong boat speed and handling. UCSB rounded out the top three.
Thank you to Umpires Nick Kaschak, Brad Schaupeter, and Liam Andresen as well as PRO, Ryan Eastwood and the UCSB Sailors that kept the course square and races rolling along. Finally, thank you so much to the PCCSC coaches that we're very helpful in facilitating bathroom breaks and keeping the sailors fed, watered, and happy. Congratulations to Stanford who qualified for the Women's Team Race National Championship with an undefeated record and will be hosting the event in their home waters on April 29-30!
No racing was necessary on Saturday as the format was completed on Friday.
