Report time was postponed until 1PM and when sailors arrived the wind was still gusting over 40mph. We waited for the wind to die enough to sail but that didn’t happen until 5PM and the racing was called for the day.
A nice southerly wind greeted the sailors on Sunday morning. After a quick coaches meeting the 18 FJ’s and 18 420’s as well as 9 powerboats made their way to Hains Point to set up for the day. The first few races were sailed in a light southerly wind. Around 11am the wind died and did a quick switch to the NW and picked up to about 20mph. The first rotation was completed at 1 but it was determined that the second round wouldn’t happen in time so racing was called for the day. A special thanks is owed to our great group of umpires Rob Overton, Billy Martin, Peter Fanta, Lucy Beimfohr, Marley Mais, Will Logue and Jake Vickers.
