Ideal conditions all day on the Charles with a 6-12 knot Westerly. 2 round robins were sailed concurrently which produced an efficient format. The first flight of a third robin was completed.
Thanks to MIT assistant coaches Mike Kanare (start boat all day) and Paige Omura(scoring) for race management and Harvard undergrads Sophia Montgomery '25, Lily Bartlett '24, KateDowney '24, and Margo Silliman '25 for running the funish boat.
Thanks to Justin Assad (Dartmouth) and Zack Leonard (Yale) for hearing the lone protest and to Zack for serving as the NEISA rep for the event. -Matt Lindblad MIT (PRO)
Round Robin 3 was completed in a building W 8-15 knots. While we prepared to run a final 4 and best of 3 for the 5/6 teams, a few gusts over 30 came through the race course as forecasted and with cold water and forecast for the wind to continue to build as the clouds cleared, the decision was made to end racing for the day at 11:40.
Thanks again to MIT assistant coaches Mike Kanare (start boat ) and Paige Omura(scoring) for race management and Harvard undergrads Sophia Montgomery '25, Lily Bartlett '24, KateDowney '24, and Margo Silliman '25 for running the finish boat.
2 protests were heard resulting in one DSQ and one disallowed. Congratulations to Yale on winning the 2022 Harvard Women's Team Race. -Matt Lindblad, MIT Sailing
