A fabulous February day of team racing greeted the 4 teams attending the first-ever USF Women's Team Racing Regatta in St. Petersburg. Temperatures were in the 70's, with very shifty northwest to north winds generally 7-10 knots.
Four full round-robins were completed, with the first two sailed inside Bayboro Harbor providing excellent spectating from the seawall, followed by a lunch break, with the final two sailed outside in Tampa Bay.
The Tulane Green Wave team crushed the event with a perfect record of 12-0, followed by the Jacksonville University Lady Fins at 8-4 and the College of Charleston Cougars at 3-9. Host team University of South Florida trailed with a 1-11 record.
Major thanks to the coaches, Jon Faudree (JU), Jocelyn Rovniak (TUL), Paris Henken (CoC), and Andrew Sumpton (USF) for umpiring the event, and to USF parents for providing and manning the finish line boat.
