Connecticut College is excited to Co/Host the 2022 Thompson Trophy with the United Stated Coast Guard Academy. This event symbolizes the strong relationship between the 2 schools and their sailing programs. We also will honor all of the seniors from all of the teams at the event with a photo shoot on Sunday before racing. All teams will be based out of the Connecticut College waterfront. No teams or team vehicles will be allowed on base at USCGA. Please use Farsworth road to access the dirt rd that will lead you to the Conn waterfront.
What a great day to sail on the Thames River. The breeze started WSW 6-10 shifted to S at 10-12, then shifted SE 10-12, then shifted W 6-10, then ahifted SW at 12-18 and finally shifted WSW 6-10 tp finish the day. Thanks to undergrads Tommy Whittemore, Coco Carragher and Alejandro Amescus for being on RC. 10 races in 3 div were sailed. 2 Redress granted for broken hinking straps on the Conn FJs, 3 Redress granted for broken Z420 Windows. The Sailors were greeted with a WNW 8-12 knts. As the day went on we hag breeze as far West and NNE. B div shuttled to CGA to sail up the CGA Z420s using Conm LP Z420 Sails. Big Thanlk to Allison and the Cadets that did all of the shuttling and Z420 repairs. Thanks to the Camel ubdwrgrads that rotated from sailing to RC boats thst helped the event run smooth. 3 Protests were heard today witb the help of Moose from URI and Stu fron Brown. 2 resulted in DSQs and 1 not granted .
