After two postponements first for Covid and then an extreme weather event, the Q1 finally was a go. Sickness and icy roads up north cut some teams, but the teams that could make it were raring to go. The weather dropped to a high of 41 on Saturday, but a solid North breeze 9-12 kept spirits high for a great 8 races. Racing will continue Saturday as we look for even better breeze and maybe even a little Sunshine to warm up some frozen Texas sailors.
A consistent North breeze 12-16 all day kept smiles on faces as we ticked off six more races to round out the regatta. Many thanks to Emily Verdoia '20, Spencer LeGrande, Fiona Froelich, and Sophia Pando for running a stellar RC. Thanks to Bob Gross for unflagging support.
Cogratulations to UT Longhorns 1 for a solid win. UNT sailors Doug Byerly and Gavin Garcia took B division with a solid performance but in A division UT sailors Karina Bertelsmann and Sophia Herrada won with a big enough margin to secure the win for the Longhorns.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
