The breeze started out with a shifty northerly at 4-8 knots which quickly clocked into the east and settled in at 8-10 for the better part of the day. Eventually the breeze went farther right into the SE and began to act bizarre. Our on the water judges handled Rule 42 infractions and were lead by Trevor Long along with Britt Hall, Nate Walton and Sterling Worrell. Matt Lindblad tweaked buoys all day while Lucy Charles kept the starts rolling. Oaklin Keefe along with Charles Lindsay, Julia Wyatt and Julius Heitkoetter all rotated through doing finish boat duty and managing tech score.David Thompson from the CG Academy was our ICSA rep. Harvard very generously allowed the use of their Z420s which were sailed by B Division today.
Yale put on a clinic with a healthy lead going into tomorrow's sailing. Harvard, Roger Williams and Dartmouth follow with a tight pack right behind them. Cool pictures from today taken by Raymond Huffman from the MIT team are at https://adobe.ly/3KDFy2s

The Charles River was fickle today with a faint NW breeze not easily giving it up for the sea breeze. The sea breeze poked in but couldn't get established. The SW breeze made an attempt but that retreated as well. Finally at 2 a sea breeze filled the River and the racers enjoyed a brisk 12 knot breeze.
The Yale Bulldogs finished off the regular season by winning the New England Dinghy Championship and the CG Alumni Bowl. Their entire squad of Shawn Harvey '22, Sonia Lingos-Utley '22, Jack Egan '25, Catherine Webb '23, and Benjamin Markert '23 smashed it and had a 49 point margin of victory over second place Harvard.
A Division was won by the always dominant team of Shawn Harvey '22 and Sonia Lingos-Utley '22 with a 42 point margin of victory. Harvard's B Division team of Lachlain McGranahan '24 and Alexandra Dorofeev '25 had an impressive win on their favorite River to take Divisional honors.
Thanks go out to our team of judges who were enforcing Rule 42 on the water all weekend. John Pratt joined the team of Trevor Long, Britt Hall, Sterling Worrell and Nate Walton keeping the tacking & jibing in line.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
