Morning broke still and foggy as SAISA convened for a developmental regatta on the shores of Lake Virginia. What looked like a still, hot day turned into a pleasant day of racing as a light but dependable breeze filled in and stayed throughout the day. With two divisions on the water, eight teams got in eight races. The Citadel finished the day on top with JU, NC State, Rollins, Florida Tech, Embry Riddle and Georgia rounding out the leaderboard. By 2:30, when the first thunderbolt rumbled as forecast, the boats were in their slings, sails stowed, and teams traveling home. Thankful that the wind held up and storms stayed away while every team finished one to grow on.
