The teams were greeted by fog and no wind at reporting time. The PRO postponed until 1030, when the fog lifted enough and the breeze filled from the NE at 3-5kts. Round 1 was completed as the sun began to break through and the fleet was sent into Hague Basin for a timely lunch break at 1330. The NE-ly breeze died completely until 1530 when a new breeze filled from the South at 6-11 kts under sunny skies. Flights 1-4 of Round 2 were completed and the fleet was back ashore by 1800. Tomorrow's forecast is for good breeze, so we expect to complete the last flight of Round 2 and all of Round 3. - PRO Rick Dominique
Teams hit the water promptly at 0930 under partly cloudy skies and North-westerly winds of 8-15kts. There were some big shifts, necessitating big course changes, but overall the courses were square and racing was good. Three full roundsa were completed as scheduled, and our visiting team were all on the road home by 1330. Congratulations to the Navy Midshipmen on their win! Thanks to USMMA midshipmen Allessandra Swart and Josh Beavis for giving up the end of their spring break to help with regatta management. Also, big thanks to the coaches Matt, Issac, Brendan for umpiring and for pitching in with a lot of the mark moving. Finally thank you to all the teams for coming, and the appreciation you showed us for running the event. Great sportsmanship all around! - PRO, Rick Dominique
