Good Morning Thames River! Connecticut College is excited happy to be hosting the Hap Moore regatta. The SW filled in about 11am at 3-6 knts. It slowly went left and a become a Seabreeze at 8-10 knts. It eventually went back to SW and WSW at 6-8 knts. Lots of crazy current and noticeable current lines . Big Thank You to the Conn undergrads that slowly froze to death on the RC boats. Each team went out and sailed their partner back to back races to minimize switching. We will finish a double Round Robin on Sunday and Sail tie breaks . Report Time on Sunday is 9:30am
The SW greeted the Sailors with a light 4-6 breeze that freshened to 6-8 knts before clocking hard west and heavy rain and un-sailable conditions for an hour. The SW eventually came in and the double round robin was completed around 1:30PM. Sailors enjoyed the open field as the skies cleared and they packed up their wet gear. Thank you to URI and Yale for bringing umpire boats. Congrats Roger Williams for winning the Hap Moore.
