Ten teams competed in combined A and B divisions at the USF Women's Regatta on day one. Northeasterly winds of 12-16 knots greeted sailors with nice waves coming across the long fetch of Tampa Bay. Six races were sailed in the bay before a lunch break, and then six more races were sailed in Bayboro Harbor in flat water and a diminishing breeze.
Three protests were filed, 1 disallowed and 2 resulting in DSQ's. Super thanks to ICSA rep John Ingalls from Salve Regina, Miami coach Taylor Scheurman, and Northwestern coach Emily Shanley-Roberts for serving on the protest committee.
Day 2 looked promising as the boats left the dock promptly at 9:30 am. Race 13 was started in Tampa Bay, but quickly abandoned when the combination of a dying breeze and strong adverse current resulted in half the fleet more than a minute late to cross the starting line.
The course was moved to Bayboro Harbor and 3 races were completed before a quick break. Light air forced a postponement and then abandonment of race 16, but finally the expected sea breeze filled in. Three additional races (16 through 18) were completed in a 7-10 knot southwesterly and very flat water.
No protests were filed.
Many thanks to all the teams who participated, from PCCSC (including Hawaii), NWICSA, MCSA, NEISA, and of course SAISA. Congratulations to all for a great opening spring season women's regatta.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
