Sailors were greeted to sunny skies and temps in the mid 60s. Racing got underway promptly at 10:00am with an ESE breeze that fluctuated between 8 and 14 knots all day. In all 52 races were completed before concluding the day at 5:00pm. Charleston and Navy currently sit tied atop the leaderboard with Jacksonville and Tulane close behind.
In a stark contrast to yesterday sailors arrived to overcast skies, temps in the 50s, and torrential rain. Fortunately the rain cleared up right at 10:00 for the first race. The breeze quickly built from 5 knots to 8-12 for the remainder of the day. The second and third round robins were completed just after 2:00pm.
A huge thank you to the Tulane team for running a very smooth event, and to the coaches that ran the expedited protests.
Congratulations to the College of Charleston for the win. Navy, Jacksonville, and Tulane rounded out the top 4.
