Today we were able to finish 67 races in a strong west wind. PRO Chip Till did a great job keeping the show rolling and Jeff Borland led a strong team of Umpires. As an early season event we saw a fair number teachable moments, but also so some great team racing. We had two breakdowns, did one re sail and plan to re-sail race # 64 first thing tomorrow morning. Heavies were a luxury that the host and a few other teams exercised to manage the solid pressure. Tomorrow will offer opportunities for the lighter set teams to show their stuff.
We were greeted with better conditions than expected which enabled the completion of our second round robin and a final four for 1-4 and 4-8. Breeze was out of the East at 5-10 and diminished throughout the day. Charleston showed poise as the home team defending their turf and sealing a win without dropping a race in the final round. Thanks again to all the teams for coming, Chip Till for his excellent work as PRO and Jeff Borland for doing an excellent job leading his team of umpires.
