Sunny and warm, but quite a windy day in Port Jefferson. Wind was from the SSW and there were frequent gusts in the low to mid 20's. Lost count of the number of capsizes, lots of swimming and masts stuck in the mud. Overall an enjoyable but exhausting day. In light of the forecast for even higher winds on Sunday, the regatta was finished Saturday. Congratulations to SUNY Maritime for the regatta win and thank you to all the teams that competed!
Regatta finished on Saturday due to Sunday weather forecast.
