The morning started with temps in the mid 60's and breeze out of the North East at 5-8 mph. We decided to sail out in the river in front of the Yorktown. The outgoing tide was with the wind making the beats challenging but also kept sailors off the line so we had no OCS's for the first two sets of A and B races. Right around noon we saw the breeze shut off and although 3 boats had managed to make it around the windward mark in 4B we decided to cancel and head in for a lunch break.
The breeze filled again out of the East this time which set up nice racing conditions on Crab Bank which is one of our favorite spots to sail. The fleet rode the outgoing tide to get there and we were able to finish the rotation around 5PM which allows for a relaxing Sunday for all the teams. Congratulations go out to the George Washington Colonials who posted a dominant performance in A division by Riley Legault and Alexandra Fayer and strong third place in B Division by Aitana Mendiguren and Sarah Noyes, to win this year's Phebe Corkran King Memorial. Stanford finished the event in second for a second year in a row followed by the hosts, CofC who's sailors, Marian Willams and Elizabeth Mignon won B Division honors.
Thank you to all the teams that joined us this year. We were happy to get in a full day of racing given the difficult conditions forecast for Sunday but also hope for a larger event next year. It's a great time of year to race in Charleston!
Did we race on this day? I do not recall. Maybe ask Kevin:/

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
