The wind was light all day long and there were several delays as the wind frequently dropped below 3 knots. The race committee stayed on top of it to ensure the racing remained fair, and only had to abandon a couple races. In all 22 races were completed in 3-5 knots of breeze.
6 races remain in the 1st round robin and the hope is to finish it and complete round 2 tomorrow. Many thanks to our umpire team for volunteering their time today. Chief Umpire Don Griglack and his wife Janice, along with Tulane Alum Miia Newman and Stanford alums John Alden Meade as well as Charles Meade.
Teams were treated to champagne conditions on Sunday. A 10-17 knot Southerly meant the races were fast-paced and we were able to get in the rest of Round 1 and the full completion of Round 2. We just ran out of time for a Final Four round.
Again many thanks to our team of umpires for giving up their weekend to help the regatta. And as always a big thank you to the Tulane team members for helping manage a successful event.
Congrats to the Cougars from the College of Charleston on the win and undefeated record on the weekend.
