Light and shifty from the ESE, but consistent enough that we were able to complete Round 1. The wind began to die during the final set, then shifted 90 right during the last race.
All races were completed on the Digital-N course. There were no breakdowns, but protests were filed. Will be hearing them this afternoon.
In a word....windy. A second round-robin began right on time but wind gusts kept increasing causing many boats to capsize. After four races the call was made to roll up the jibs. Meanwhile the wind increased further, blowing directly down the lake from the dam unimpeded, a direction of about 200 degrees. As we discussed limiting racing to the top four teams, a gust in the upper 30's made even motor-boating dicey. During the 7th race, the fleet was sent in for the day.
Thanks to helpers Jack Duncan, Alex Fasolo, Maggie Veltri, Wells Drayton and others for keeping things moving Sunday. A special thanks to guest PRO Reid Van Gorder for getting off 28 races on Saturday.
