Too much wind - no racing
It was one of those days that spring team race dreams are made of. Sunny, warm, flat water, decent breeze. The report time was changed to 9am. A shifty SW breeze prevailed; racing started at 10am. We completed the 45 race round robin and finished up with 2 sail offs to break the ties for the trophy positions. Yale beat RWU to win the tie-breaker for first and Dartmouth trumped Stanford in the sail off for 3rd.
MANY THANKS to our umpires: ChUmp Mikey Gemperline RWU '17, Riley Eger RWU '17, Jimmy Kennedy RWU 17, Megan Roach RWU '18, Matt Duggan RWU '09, Andrew Kingston RWU '17 Rex Cameron and Nick Sertl. Also thanks to our Race Committee: Abby RWU '15 and Jim Cook P '15. The undergrads in the mark set boat, Peter Forsberg and Cam Nelson, never stopped moving marks all day, and quite a few times the marks moved themselves. Furthermore, thanks to Sail Newport, Brown University and Yale University for lending umpire boats.
