When the fleet left the dock, the wind was W 15-20 with gusts to 25. A division started in FJS while B was in Z420s. We ran 3 races per division as the wind increased until the gusts started topping 30 and we came in for a lunch break. After a while we were able to go back out and sail 3 more races per division in Z420s only. At the end of the day, the wind tapered off to 10-15 and we were able to get A back out in FJs for the last 2 sets. A huge thanks to our judges Marissa and Brad Milliken, who enforced rule 42, helped with rescues and heard 3 protests, resulting in 2 DSQs.
Today was a difficult day for Race Committee. We started out postponed ashore, then launched around 1100 to race in a 3.5 knot south easterly. One race was completed in each division before the breeze shut off and sailors were sent in for a lunch break. At 1400, the breeze filled in again from the South East. One A division race was able to be completed. After many attempts at setting a course for B division in a Southeast-east-northeast-northwesterly, the breeze finally roared in from the northwest at 15 knots. Race 12B was started just in the nick of time at 1559 to be able to round off the last set. Congratulations to the home team for winning the America Trophy and to the other eight teams that will represent MAISA at the Coed National Semi Finals in Newport, RI!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
