A morning of glassy water and frost on the boats turned into a great day to sail as the wind built up during the morning to 5-7 knots from the west as the teams launched for the first round robin. After a short lunch break, all teams returned to the water with the wind building up and clocking towards the south west to complete a second round robin before stopping for the day.
Cornell is off to a undefeated start with Navy right behind. Thank you to umpires Conner Blouin, Max Kurland, Max Plarr, and WAC Alum Alex Smith. Teams meet tomorrow morning bright and early for another day of team racing.
Warmer weather greeted sailors on the Chester River on Sunday with a nice breeze from the north. Navy worked hard to catch up to Cornell and nearly succeeded, with the results coming down to each teams final race. Navy lost their last race, while Cornell beat their opponent and secured the overall win. Congratulations to Cornell!
Thank you to the WAC sailors for their hard work on and off the water. Big thank you to our umpires, who returned to the water today to finish out the regatta.
