Our SAISA champs include both a team race and fleet race segment. With just five teams, three rounds are completed in the morning with fleet racing to follow. The wind was up, averaging in the upper teens for the duration of the day. The regatta format was a single round of five followed by two rounds of four. When the third round was started Charleston had clinched and Jacksonville could only play spoiler. As luck would have it, the first race of the round was between USF and Eckerd, which would likely determine the final spot. USF took the race in a blow out 1-2-3. With USF up on the tie breaker, a further Eckerd loss or a USF win clinched for the Bulls. Both happened in the next flight, at which point the round was abandoned for fleet racing to being. As such, the scores indicate the only relevant race. Congrats to USF and Charleston for qualifying for nationals, and special thanks to Carrie Greene, Tom Rinda, and Michael Booker for umping the event.
